John Legend live @ the Greek Theater 9/2/09

I had the pleasure of watching John Legend last night at The Greek Theater in LA. First of all, what a tremendous venue the Greek Theater is. So close to the artist even in the seats that aren't in the orchestra section. The sound carries well and the weather makes it like you are sitting outside at home on your porch watching a show. India had a pretty quick set although she left us wanting to hear "Brown Skin". Maybe she sang it last night. She did well and is much more comfortable on stage now than when she first began singing (of course!). The, take a look at the clip below and John Legend started his show about seven seats from me.

JL is a really good performer for being so "young" in terms of years on the scene. I would love his show even more in like three or four years with even more hits under his belt. He sang almost all of his popular songs and some other new ones as well. Gave a nice and subtle tribute to Michael Jackson which I thought came off perfect. He ended his show with two encores which was real nice. Normally artists don't end with slow jams, but this time he closed the lid on the show with two perfect slow songs. Brilliant. I was impressed and the show was better than I thought it was going to be and I had high expectations already. Looking forward to the next one!
